OUTWATER Company was born from a simple idea: to create technical clothing and gear that truly supports outdoor enthusiasts.
No compromises — just the perfect balance of protection, comfort, and style. Every piece is designed for those who live by the rhythm of the sun, the water, the wind, and the spirit of adventure.
We come from the Atlantic coast, from that part of southwestern France sometimes called the "French California."
A land of ocean, sand, forests, and wide open spaces. That’s where our passion took root — between waves and rivers, between the world of board sports and the world of fishing. Two universes united by the same values: being out there, being patient, staying in motion, and relying on the right gear.
Our DNA was shaped by those disciplines — through dawn sessions, makeshift camps, gear crusted with salt, sunburnt necks, and long treks into remote places.
And for over 30 years, our travels have fueled the brand — from Japan to Madagascar, from Mexico to Hawaii, from Indonesia to Norway. Every time, we observed, tested, learned, and shared.
What we design today is the product of that raw, real-world, demanding experience.

OUTWATER textile technology to stay protected, ventilated and cool
At OUTWATER , we don't design our UPF50+ garments as simple barriers against the sun. We develop them as active thermal regulation systems , capable of protecting you, ventilating you and cooling you down for a long time. With this in mind, we have developed the ThermoFlow Fit concept: a comprehensive approach that combines functional cut and intelligent response to humidity , for unmatched comfort in hot environments.
A loose fit designed to allow air to circulate freely
The first component of ThermoFlow Fit technology is the fit . Unlike fitted or tight-fitting garments, our OUTWATER tops are intentionally loose, without excess, to create an air gap between the fabric and your skin . This air cushion functions as a natural thermal barrier , allowing excess heat to escape by convection while allowing fresh air to circulate.
This passive ventilation principle reduces the overheating effect often felt under technical clothing that is too close to the body. The result: you sweat less, you stay dry longer, and you maintain a constant feeling of lightness , even under a blazing sun.
A refreshing effect activated by humidity
But ThermoFlow Fit doesn't stop there. Thanks to the very nature of the materials we use— 90% polyester for lightness and quick drying , 10% spandex for stretch and ease —our garments can be lightly dampened (by immersion, splashing, or spraying) to create an immediate feeling of freshness .
The water trapped in the fibers gradually evaporates upon contact with the air, generating a natural cooling of the skin surface , without feeling heavy or uncomfortable. This controlled evaporation effect , combined with the loose and breathable cut, transforms your OUTWATER top into a true autonomous textile air conditioner , capable of accompanying you in the most extreme environments: mangroves, lagoon edges, desert plateaus or the open sea.
And even when wet, the fabric retains its UPF50+ certification : sun protection never fades. You always benefit from a 98% effective UV barrier against UVA and UVB rays , while actively regulating your body temperature.
